Child Online Protection is an area of great concern that requires immediate attention and intervention. Threats of cyber space hold no economic, social, geographic boundaries or barriers. Due to lack of information and awareness among adults, children become more vulnerable online. Team Responsible Netism hosts the 3rd National Cyber Psychology Conference themed "CHILD ONLINE PROTECTION."

Our eye-opening experience of 6 years with 8.5 lakh children and adults has exposed us to extremely alarming threats that children face online. Ranging from gaming threats, bullying, exposure to age inappropriate sexual content, addiction to pornography, sleep deprivation and depression to name a few. Unfortunately, adults are most ill-equipped to understand technology and handle online distress. This has only strengthened our belief that intervention and education about online safety amongst adults associated with and working with children is the need of the hour.

To build a sound and strong force of digital guardians across the state, we plan to host 2 run-up events in Maharashtra (Kolhapur - 8th Jan and Aurangabad 18th Jan 2019) and the main conference will be hosted in Mumbai on 23rd Jan, 2019. This conference will throw light upon crucial topics such as types of cyber crimes against children, the need for child online protection, legal interventions and framework to deal with online distress, balancing mental well-being in cyber space and formulating cyber hygiene policies to safe-guard children. The conference is presented by UNICEF, Maharashtra State Council of Education Research and Training (MSCERT) and Ahaan Foundation. Supported by the Ministry of Education - Maharashtra, Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) and Twitter with Maharashtra Cyber as the Knowledge Partner.
